Rangilo Re: Hosting Mumbai’s Nine-Night Navratri Spectacle
Nine nights of high-octane Garba, spiritual energy, and nonstop celebration. This is my home ground, where I manage the magic behind one of Mumbai's biggest Navratri festivals.
Kicking off Day 1 of Rangilo Re 2025. This video captures the opening puja and the initial moments of building the electric atmosphere that defines this nine-night festival.
For Day 2, I drew inspiration from the South Indian Navratri Golu tradition. This clip shows me on stage in a unique outfit, sharing cultural stories to connect with the entire audience.
Day 3 was all about high energy. Here you can see me dancing and engaging with the crowd, keeping the momentum going alongside Parthiv Gohil's incredible performance.
A glimpse into the vibrant celebrations of Day 4, where I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the super talented Mame Khan and Charmee Zaveri.
The energy on Day 5 was simply electrifying. This video shows the massive crowd, the colorful decor, and me in a festive red and green outfit, living the celebration.
A look at Day 6, featuring the incredible Mohan Sisters. From backstage prep to commanding the stage, every moment is part of creating a spectacular show.
My Royal Rajputana look for Day 7. This clip shows me performing and hosting, embodying the theme of the evening with grace and energy, alongside a performance by Harshdeep Kaur.
Leading the divine Maha-Aarti on Durga Ashtami. This is a sacred and powerful moment at Rangilo Re, where all the artists come together to celebrate the victory of good over evil.
This is the making of my 'Radha' look for Day 8. I wanted to challenge stereotypes and embody the compassion and beauty of Radha, and this video shows the team and vision that brought it to life.
It was a privilege to welcome the respected spiritual orator Jaya Kishori to the Rangilo Re stage. This video shows my introduction and our interaction, a truly blessed moment.
About Rangilo Re: The Nine-Night Spectacle
Hosting 15,000+ people isn't just about speaking on a mic; it’s about maintaining endurance over six hours while managing everything from artist introductions to Maha-Aarti protocols. I don't just stand on stage—I actively participate in the rituals and lead the crowd through the 'rang, raas, and ramzat,' ensuring the energy never dips, even when technical challenges arise.
Hosting a festival like Rangilo Re requires more than just a loud voice. It requires an understanding of the rhythm of the crowd. When you have thousands of people at Nesco, dead air is not an option. My role involves managing the run of order while keeping the atmosphere electric, whether we are transitioning from a high-speed Garba set by Parthiv Gohil to a soulful moment during a Maha-Aarti.
What sets my approach apart is the 'Dancing Anchor' style. I believe that to lead the crowd, you must be part of the crowd. I invest time in sourcing traditional couture—from royal Rajputana looks to floral-themed Radha attire—to ensure I visually complement the festival’s aesthetics. I also focus on the context behind the celebration. When I explain the significance of the Goddess Avatars or lead a chant, I aim to create a moment of connection rather than just an announcement.
For organizers, this means I come prepared with:
- Marathon Endurance: Hosting for 6+ hours with consistent vocal energy.
- Improvisation: Handling technical glitches or sudden changes in the schedule without losing the crowd’s momentum.
- Cultural Literacy: Whether it’s Gujarati, Hindi, or English, I ensure the messaging respects the traditions of the event.
Whether it’s coordinating with guest artists like Jaya Kishori or managing massive Garba circles, my goal is to facilitate the flow of the night so the audience stays immersed.
