About this collection

A Nauvari drape isn't just about the look; it is about the security. My technique involves careful pleating and internal locking that keeps your 9-yard silk secure for 8+ hours, whether you are sitting for rituals or dancing at the reception. I do not just pin the fabric; I construct the drape so you can move naturally without feeling restricted.

Draping is a language. When you choose a Nauvari, you are choosing to wear Maharashtrian history, and that requires more than just wrapping fabric. My approach focuses on 'adaa' and functionality. I specialize in all major traditional styles, including the 9-yard Brahmani, Peshwai, Mastan, and the vibrant Lavani style.

Why my draping stays secure:

  • Internal Locking: I use traditional knotting and advanced pinning techniques to ensure your 9-yard saree doesn't sag, even after hours of dancing or sitting cross-legged during ceremonies.
  • Steam Finishing: I arrive with a heavy-duty professional steamer. Whether it is a stiff Kanchivaram or a soft Paithani, I ensure every crease is removed and every pleat is set sharp before you step out.
  • Custom Adjustments: Every body type needs a different fall. I adjust the pleats to flatter your silhouette, ensuring the 'Ocha' (cowl) sits symmetrically. If you are wearing a heavy waist belt (Kamarpatta), I structure the pleats to support its weight without pulling.

My reach:

I travel across Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi. If you are a bride, I also offer pre-pleating services at my studio where I steam-set your saree and box-fold it. You just have to slip into it on your wedding day, saving you precious time during those hectic last hours before the 'muhurat'.

Beyond bridal looks, I also drape for sangeets, engagements, and festive events. If you want a modern twist—like a dhoti-saree or a fusion drape with a western vibe—I am happy to experiment with you to create something that feels like 'you'.
