Live DJ Performances and Events
From rocking campus festivals to unexpected venues like research centers, I bring a unique, adaptable energy to every stage I step on.
Nothing beats the energy of a live crowd singing and dancing along. This was a campus gig where everyone just let loose. I teach my students how to build this kind of connection through their music selection and mixing.
A Halloween party in Agartala where I blended a classic 90s Bollywood song with a psy-trance track. Understanding different genres and how to mix them is a key skill I pass on to my students.
Behind the decks at 'The Hundred Meet vol 3', a local riders' event. Performing at different types of events teaches you flexibility, a crucial skill for any working DJ.
This was a special night, turning a medical research center into the coolest party in the region. It shows that with the right music, you can create a vibe anywhere.
About Live Performances & Events
Whether I am performing at an outdoor riders' meet or a university festival, I don't just hit play. I read the energy of the crowd and adapt my set in real time, often blending diverse genres like 90s Bollywood with modern psy-trance to ensure the music bridges the gap between different musical tastes.
My approach to live DJ performances is rooted in observation and experimentation. Just as I apply scientific logic to my research, I apply it to my music. I assess the atmosphere, the venue, and the crowd dynamics to curate a set that feels right for that specific moment. This is why you might see me playing a high-octane set at an ICMR campus gig one night and a sunset chill session the next.
Why my sets feel different
- Genre Fluidity: I specialize in mashups. If you want nostalgia mixed with high-energy modern beats, I make it work. I don't stick to one rigid style because a great party shouldn't feel predictable.
- Technical Adaptability: I travel with my own Pioneer DJ gear and know how to set up in varied environments—from rooftop lounges in the Maldives to temporary stages in Agartala. I am comfortable managing my own sound checks and transitions.
- Crowd Connection: My sets are interactive. Whether it is grabbing the mic to get people to sing along or adjusting the bass to keep the energy up, I am there to facilitate the vibe, not just stand behind the deck.
If you are planning an event—be it a college fest, a private party, or a corporate function—I am happy to discuss the mood you want to set. I value authenticity above all, so let’s talk about what will make your guests actually want to dance.
Rislyn Debbarma
I split my days between medical research and the DJ booth, so I know how to balance discipline with the need to just let loose. When I perform, I am not just playing tracks—I am trying to create a moment where you can forget the daily grind and be entirely yourself. Hambai, let's make some noise.
