I spend my days in medical research and my nights behind the decks. This is what my world looks like when I am not in the lab.

One world: as a scientist, I work on the ground, connecting with communities in rural Tripura. This is me during a fieldwork session, a world away from the DJ booth.

Sharing a moment with a child during my fieldwork. This work keeps me grounded and reminds me of the importance of purpose in everything I do.

A collage that captures my dual life perfectly. It shows me collecting samples for medical research, and also behind the decks, lost in the music. Both are driven by passion and hard work.

Representing my state and my work at the National One Health Mission Assembly in New Delhi, wearing my traditional Tripuri attire. It was a proud moment to bring my culture to a national scientific platform.

As part of the 'Shine' initiative, I had the opportunity to demonstrate scientific procedures to students. Inspiring the next generation, whether in science or music, is incredibly rewarding.

Serving a purpose, one person at a time. Here I am assisting with health screenings in a village. This work is a core part of who I am.

A young child getting a health check during one of our community visits. This is the reality of public health work, and it's a world I balance with my DJ career.

Sitting and talking with an elder in her home. Taking the time to listen and connect is important in both science and music.

My delegate pass for the National One Health Mission Assembly. A small card that represents a huge part of my professional life as a scientist.

Another shot from the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, a place where science and policy converge. This experience reinforces the discipline I bring to my music.

About The Scientist DJ: My Story

Most people do not expect a scientist to be mixing tracks on a Pioneer controller, but I have learned that the discipline of research and the creativity of DJing feed each other. Whether I am conducting public health fieldwork in rural Tripura or playing festivals, the focus remains the same: connecting with people and staying true to my roots.

People often ask how I manage both roles. The truth is, I do not try to separate them. My medical research work in Tripura requires patience and precision, traits that directly translate to how I approach my sets, from manual beat-matching to understanding harmonic mixing. When I am on-site doing community health work, I am building trust. When I am behind the console, I am building an atmosphere.

The Scientific Approach to Sound

Being a PhD holder in science has shaped my DJing in unexpected ways. I approach track selection like data analysis, looking for patterns, energy levels, and harmonic compatibility. I do not use the sync button because I want to understand the mechanics of every transition. This analytical mindset helped me secure the Best Djane Tripura title twice and allows me to blend genres like Bollywood and deep house with technical accuracy.

Why It Matters

I grew up in Tripura, where paths are often defined by tradition. Choosing a career in DJing was difficult, and I still battle the perception that it is not a real job. However, showing up at national platforms like the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, whether as a researcher or a DJ, helps shift that narrative.

My goal is to show that you do not have to pick one side of yourself. Whether you are looking to learn DJing from someone who values discipline, or you want a performer who brings a unique, grounded energy to your event, my work is a reflection of this balance. If you are curious about how I can bring this energy to your next event or how we can get started with your own DJ training, let us talk.
