About Festival & Themed Parties
Whether it is a 7 AM coffee rave or a rain-drenched Holi festival, I treat every themed event like a headline gig. I do not follow a pre-set list because the vibe changes by the minute; I focus on reading the room and using my Pioneer console to blend whatever works—from heavy tech beats to traditional dhol drops—right when the energy dips.
The energy of a festival crowd is different from a wedding. It is raw, unpredictable, and relentless. Over the last 28 years, I have learned that playing for a themed event requires a distinct kind of intuition. You are not just background noise; you are the conductor of the room.

How I Mix for Themes
- Genre Switching: I do not believe in sticking to one genre. If the crowd needs a Punjabi drop during a Techno set, I make it happen. Seamless transitions between Bollywood, EDM, and Folk are how I keep the momentum high.
- Live Percussion: For events that need that extra punch, I bring in the Basti Crew. Mixing live dhol and djembe with electronic beats creates a rhythm that speakers alone just cannot replicate. It is the perfect blend of raw energy and modern sound engineering.
- Gear & Setup: I bring my own Pioneer CDJ 2000 NXS2/3000 setup. Whether it is a hotel poolside or a grassy festival ground, I ensure the audio output is crisp, heavy, and immersive.
