About After-Party Raves & Sunrise Sets
For my sunrise sets, I move away from commercial hits and focus on a driving, hypnotic soundscape. Using 3-4 deck mixing and loop rolls, I build a continuous wall of sound that stays consistent from 2 AM onwards. It is a technical, endurance-focused performance designed to keep the energy locked in for the late-night crowd.
A Different Kind of Energy
There is a massive difference between a peak-hour club set and a sunrise rave. When the clock strikes 2 AM, the crowd shifts. They are not looking for sing-alongs or commercial radio hits. They want a journey. That is where my 28 years of experience in the scene kicks in. I strip back the distractions and focus purely on the groove.
The Technical Approach
My after-hours sessions rely on complex mixing techniques. I utilize 3-4 deck mixing, loop rolls, and real-time effects to ensure there are no breaks in the rhythm. The goal is to maintain a hypnotic trance state, often incorporating Techno and Tech-House that builds intensity without causing ear fatigue.
I treat the console as an extension of myself. Whether it is a luxury wedding after-party like the one I did for Srishti and Abhinav, or a dedicated rave festival, the focus remains on the craft. My gear requirements are strict—Pioneer NXS2 or CDJ 3000 setups—because at those hours, the precision of the sound matters as much as the track selection.
What to Expect
- Deep Focus: No commercial Bollywood. Just Techno, Tech-House, and driving EDM rhythms.
- Endurance: I am built for these graveyard slots. My sets are designed for stamina, often running until the sun comes up.
- Fluidity: I do not rely on pre-planned tracklists. I read the floor in real-time, managing the energy levels so the room stays packed until the final drop.
