When I am on set, my focus shifts from how the makeup looks in the mirror to how it catches the lens. I always synchronize with the photographer about the lighting setup—whether it is studio strobes or natural outdoor light—so we can adjust the base texture and shine control before we even open the vanity.
My process starts with the camera, not the mirror. Whether I am crafting a bold, avant-garde look for a magazine cover or keeping it clean for an e-commerce catalogue, my goal is to deliver a finish that requires minimal post-production retouching.
Lighting-First Application
I select products based on the specific lighting setup of your shoot. Studio strobes demand different powder densities compared to natural light to prevent flashback and ashiness. I focus heavily on skin-like textures, using layering techniques that ensure the skin looks hydrated, not greasy, under high-contrast photography.
Durability for Long Hours
Commercial shoots are often eight-hour marathons. I use sweat-resistant foundations and industrial-strength setting sprays that withstand studio heat, outfit changes, and repeated touch-ups. I also include body detailing in my packages, applying illuminators that catch the light and provide a uniform skin tone, giving that polished, editorial sheen.
