Getting the perfect shot is all about how the outfit moves, drapes, and catches the light. I handle the styling on set so every frame looks camera-ready.

This video shows my entire process, from the initial inspiration board to styling the model on set and the final designer walk on the runway. I handle every step to bring a vision to life.

Behind the scenes at an outdoor shoot in the mountains. I was on set to style this flowing red gown, making sure the long train caught the wind perfectly for a dramatic, cinematic shot.

On set for a photoshoot, I am personally draping this delicate organza saree on the model. Ensuring the pleats are perfect and the pallu falls just right is crucial for the final photograph.

It was a pleasure to work with this client and drape her in this custom black dress. My job is to make sure the fit and fall of the garment are perfect for the person wearing it.

Here I am styling a model in a floral printed organza saree for an outdoor shoot. On-set adjustments are key to making sure the outfit looks flawless from every angle.

A quick look at what I do. From creating heavily embroidered anarkalis and gowns to styling models on set, my work is all about custom design and production styling.

About On-Set Styling & The Creative Process

When I am on a shoot, I am not just the designer; I am your on-set wardrobe manager. Whether it is clamping a dress to fit perfectly for a still, steaming out transit wrinkles, or adjusting the drape of a saree between takes to ensure continuity, I make sure the clothes behave exactly how the camera needs them to. You focus on the lighting and the direction, and I will keep the costume flawless throughout the day.

Fashion on camera is different from fashion on the street. A dress might look great walking down the aisle, but under studio lights, it needs to be pinned, tucked, and draped specifically for the frame. That is where my process starts.

I do not just drop off the clothes and leave. For music video and ad film projects, I am physically present on location. This includes managing 12-hour shifts to ensure continuity—meaning if the dupatta was on the left shoulder in shot one, it stays there for shot two. I carry an emergency kit with fabric glue, safety pins, and steamers so that minor mishaps never stop the production.

For fashion shoots, I focus on the 'fall' of the fabric. Whether you are using heavy satins or light organza, I arrange the flares and pleats to create the drama the director wants. I have worked on everything from runway collections where durability is key for quick changes, to intimate photoshoots where the smallest detail of a silhouette matters.

My goal is to remove the stress of wardrobe management from your shoot day. You bring the vision, and I handle the technical side of the costume—making sure the fabric moves with your talent and catches the light perfectly.

I am Dev Singh. I started The Leeela Couture to bridge the gap between a design sketch and a camera-ready look. My process is hands-on because I believe a great outfit is only as good as how it is styled on the day of the shoot.
