A design composition for an art collecting family that balances grand, public facing glamour with intimate, serene private retreats within Kolkata's tallest residential tower.

An exterior view of 'THE 42' in Kolkata, the city's tallest residential tower. Our project within this iconic skyscraper was designed to be as breathtaking as the panoramic views it offers.

The entrance to the apartment at 'THE 42' is a masterpiece of texture and light. Honed granite walls with brass details, a custom main door, and an installation of ceramic horses by Partha Dasgupta create a grand and artistic welcome.

This short video highlights the details of the entrance foyer, from the intricate art installations in gilded niches to the custom-designed door, setting a tone of luxury and artistry that continues throughout the home.

A walkthrough of the entrance, showcasing the majestic stone and water feature that symbolizes blessings. The video captures the flow from the grand entrance into the formal living areas, highlighting the seamless transition between spaces.

The home's entrance is dominated by a majestic water feature crafted from massive stone slabs by Odyssey. Adorned with brass and silver 'Khadau' and etched 'Pali' script, it serves as a powerful symbol of welcome and serenity.

A detail of the water feature, showing the 'Khadau' centerpiece. This element, representing sacred footwear, is suspended between the stone slabs, creating a window into the living space beyond and blending spiritual symbolism with modern design.

The cascading water over the rough, natural texture of the stone creates a multi-sensory experience at the entrance. This feature is not just a visual element but also brings the soothing sound of water into the home.

The living room is a curated gallery of art and design. This view shows a tufted sofa set against a backdrop of a stone water feature and a Bocci 'clouds' light installation, creating a celestial, dream-like ambiance.

A textured stone wall, which cleverly conceals a door, is adorned with charcoal art by Paresh Maity and Jogen Chowdhury. The light gray sofa and antique silver birds from Mumbai's Chor Bazaar add to the room's layered, sophisticated feel.

Another perspective of the living room, where a comfortable chaise lounge is set against a textured wall. The space is a testament to artful living, with every piece, from the furniture to the smallest artifact, telling a story.
