Immersive Retail Architecture and Experiential Store Design
We create branded spatial experiences that move beyond traditional retail, using light, movement, and material texture to guide how customers discover your brand.
Our design for the Bonnie & Saks flagship store begins with an atmospheric entry. We use dramatic, sheer curtains and a monochromatic palette to create a sense of mystery and transition, inviting visitors to leave the everyday behind and enter a more contemplative retail environment.
This composition illustrates our core concept of discovery. The product, a finely dressed bed, is partially revealed through a translucent veil, juxtaposed with the sculptural, organic form of a bare tree at the entrance, blending the commercial purpose with a natural, calming aesthetic.
We believe the customer's journey is a tactile one. The use of rough pebble stone flooring is a deliberate choice to slow the visitor's pace, encouraging a mindful, deliberate traversal of the space and a heightened awareness of the physical environment.
The retail space is designed as a series of interconnected zones. Here, a quiet discussion area is positioned to overlook the veiled product pods, creating a layered experience where clients can consult and reflect within the immersive Japandi-inspired interior.
This diagrammatic animation explains our process of adapting a core design concept. We translated the circular, motorized curtain system of a large flagship store into an ascending spiral for a compact 4x4 meter booth, preserving the dynamic experience of discovery in a smaller footprint.
We are honored to receive recognition from the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID). Our retail work was awarded in the Commercial (Small) category, a testament to our team's dedication to creating impactful and innovative spatial designs.
About Featured
In our work for Bonnie and Saks, we replaced standard display racks with motorized, sheer curtains that slowly unveil the product pods. This kinetic approach forces a deceleration of pace, turning the act of shopping into a measured, sensory-driven journey rather than a quick transaction.
Our retail philosophy begins with the premise that a shop should be a diagram of discovery. We focus on how visitors move through a space, utilizing architectural interventions to control the gaze and create moments of anticipation.
The Sensory Framework
We often employ a monastic material palette, characterized by the raw texture of pebble stone, lime plaster, and tatami mats. This monochrome intensity creates a calm background, allowing the product to become the focal point of the environment. Lighting is treated not just as utility, but as a shaping tool, defining where a visitor stops, looks, or transitions to the next zone.
Adaptable Architecture
Whether we are working on a 4x4 meter pop-up exhibition booth or a large-scale flagship store, our structural logic remains consistent. We analyze the grid of the site, manage the flow of traffic, and integrate dynamic elements like sliding panels or retractable curtains. For smaller footprints, we scale these interventions, such as shifting from circular pods to an ascending spiral, to maintain the same sense of spectacle and intimacy without compromising on functionality.
Technical Precision
Behind the experiential facade lies rigorous technical architecture. We provide detailed fabrication drawings for kinetic systems, reflected ceiling plans for HVAC and lighting integration, and precise detailing for mixed-material flooring transitions. Our collaboration extends to site execution, where we supervise the final assembly to ensure that the initial concept—the diagram—translates accurately into the built form.
