We started as a small group wanting to make some noise for poetry in India, and we grew into a family that believes poetry is the soul of the nation. When a city feels like it is burning, a poem stands alone. Your words matter more than ever, and our platform is here to ensure they are heard, not just kept in a notebook.

The Wingword Poetry Prize

This is our flagship national poetry competition, open to everyone from the gali ka ladka to the college topper. We run two cycles a year, so there is always a chance to participate.

• Language: We accept entries in English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, and other regional languages. Apni zubaan mein likho (Write in your own language).
• Themes: There are no restrictions. Whether you want to write about politics, heartbreak, dost yaar, or social issues, we want to read it.
• Copyright: You retain full copyright. We only ask for first publication rights if your poem is selected for our anthology.

What Happens After You Submit?

We want to make sure your work gets the exposure it deserves.

1. Recognition: The top 8% to 10% of entries are considered for our physical anthology. If you make it into the Top 500, you get a complimentary paperback copy.
2. Cash Prizes: We have awarded over 30 Lakh Rupees to help poets continue their journey.
3. Growth: Participating helps you build a portfolio. We’ve seen winners go from young students to published authors with book deals.
