Sunbeams pierce through the branches of the sacred Bodhi tree, illuminating a congregation of monks during a morning prayer session in Bodh Gaya. This image captures the profound peace and spiritual energy of the moment.
A Bharatanatyam dancer strikes a powerful pose on stage, her vibrant costume caught in the dramatic stage lighting. I focus on freezing these peak moments of expression and movement during live classical dance performances.
Under the cover of night at Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi, funeral pyres burn brightly against the dark waters of the Ganges. My approach to documenting these sacred rites is quiet and respectful, focusing on the atmospheric reality of the scene.
A close-up portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama during a teaching session in Bodh Gaya. Capturing such moments requires anticipation and discretion, ensuring the sanctity of the event is maintained while documenting its key figures.
In the crowded lanes of Varanasi during a festival, a performer breathes fire, lighting up the faces of the surrounding devotees. This shot showcases my ability to immerse myself in chaotic environments to capture high-energy cultural events.
A Bharatanatyam dancer performs outdoors, with a historic tomb in the background and a peacock observing nearby. This demonstrates my work in artistic performance photography, blending cultural art forms with natural and architectural beauty.
A monk carefully lights a row of butter lamps at the Mahabodhi Temple. This image highlights my focus on the small, intimate details and quiet acts of devotion that are often the most powerful parts of a spiritual ceremony.
A wide, black and white photograph of the scene at Manikarnika Ghat, where a sacred cow stands overlooking the funerary proceedings by the river. This photojournalistic style captures the timeless, layered reality of life and death in Kashi.

About Event & Performance Photography

How I See Events

Every event is its own story. I don’t just click photos, I try to catch the whole vibe - the real moments, not staged ones. Whether it’s a packed festival or a personal ceremony, I want people to feel the experience when they look at my work.

My Style

I work like a photojournalist, blending in and letting things unfold. I focus on:

  • candid event photography, so you get raw emotions and genuine interactions
  • atmospheric details, like the crowd energy or how a single diya lights up a night
  • the full timeline, from pre-event prep to the big finale

What I Shoot

I cover a lot, but I’m drawn to events with real meaning:

  • Cultural and spiritual gatherings - from Dev Diwali in Varanasi to Dalai Lama’s teachings in Bodhgaya. I respect the traditions, capturing the spirit, whether it’s a fire ritual or quiet meditation. Om Namah Shivay.
  • Documenting live performances - especially classical Indian dance like Bharatanatyam. I freeze expressions, mudras, and backstage moments.
  • Emotional ceremony photography - like funerary rites at Manikarnika Ghat, where I work quietly and respectfully.

My Tools

I use pro gear - Nikon Z6, sharp lenses, and solid lighting setups. So, even in tricky low-light or fast action, I’m covered.

Where You’ll Find Me

Based in Delhi-NCR, but I shoot across India. Places like Varanasi and Bodhgaya are regulars for me. If your event’s got a story, I’m interested.

My Story

I’m Madhav Ritik. Delhi College of Photography taught me the technical stuff, but real inspiration hits me in places like Kashi, Manikarnika Ghat, or Bodh Gaya. Sometimes I’m shooting glossy plates for commercial food photography, other days I’m lost in raw street photography, chanting 'Om Namah Shivay' as I frame life and death. My work swings between studio lights and spiritual India photo series. It’s all about the story, yaar.

My Work

Photography & Cinematography Services - I cover interior, street, fashion, product, documentary, food, and event shoots. Solo or with my team.

Two Distinct Styles - Commercial shoots get crisp, clean results. Personal projects? Raw, story-driven, soulful. Depends on your vibe.

Pro Equipment Always - Nikon Z6, Profoto, Godox lighting - I keep the gear top-notch, no jugaad (shortcuts) here.

Studio or Street, Your Pick - Want a polished studio session or gritty documentary cinematography on Indian streets? I’ve got the experience.
