Behind the scenes of bridal hairstyling

About this collection
What you do not see in the final photos is the structural foundation. Before the hair is set, I am crimping for volume, pinning heavy matha pattis, and wiring fresh flowers into the bun to ensure everything stays put through hours of rituals and dancing.
Creating a bridal look is a team sport. When I walk into a hotel room to prep a bride, I am usually working in tandem with the makeup artist. My process starts long before the final hairspray. It begins with foundation, crimping the roots for grip and using professional-grade donuts and padding to build a base that can actually support heavy jewelry.
Dupatta pinning is perhaps the most technical part of my job. I use heavy-duty safety pinning techniques to ensure the veil sits perfectly on the head without pulling at the roots or slipping during the pheras. I also coordinate with your makeup artist on timeline, ensuring we are not getting in each other's way while applying finishing touches like lipstick or setting the jhoomar.
Whether it is a traditional red-rose bun for a wedding ceremony or a high-volume ponytail for a cocktail night, the prep is specific. I use professional fixatives for a hold that lasts, not just for the photos, but through the entire event. If you see fresh flowers in my work, be it hydrangeas or classic gajra, know that I wire each one individually so they do not wilt or fall out by the time you reach the mandap.
