About this collection
Most problems in your composter are just signs you need to balance the mix. If your bin smells, it is usually trapped moisture or lack of air. Do not use chemicals to fix it. Just stir in some extra Remix Powder to absorb the liquid and bring in oxygen. Treat it like a living ecosystem, not a trash can, and you will see the results change quickly.
Dealing with Smells
If your pile smells, it lacks oxygen. Moisture is usually the culprit. Stop adding wet items directly, so drain your dals or curry first. Add extra dry material like Remix Powder and stir from the bottom up to re-aerate. A healthy bin should smell like damp earth.
Handling 'Monsters' (Maggots)
Maggots are nature's way of eating waste. They are not harmful, but if they bother you, just dry the pile out. Add Neem powder and stir well. They hate heat and dry environments. If you see them, remember they are just composting superheroes doing their job.
Leachate (Liquid Gold)
That brown water collecting at the bottom is not waste. It is liquid gold for your plants. Dilute it 1 part leachate to 10 parts water and feed your garden. It is full of nutrients.
Condensation
If you see droplets on the lid of your plastic composter, it is perfectly normal. It is just condensation because the plastic does not breathe like terracotta. Wipe it down, add some dry powder, and carry on.
What Goes In?
