We don't just sell composters, we started a movement. See how Poonam Bir Kasturi turned a simple design into a daily habit for over 90,000 Indian homes.

We carry forward the dream of our founder, Poonam Bir Kasturi. Her vision was simple yet powerful: just like every home has a fridge and a TV, every home should have a composter.

"Is this your hobby?" Poonam was often asked. For over 18 years, this has been our profession and our mission. We are 100% professional about changing the way India thinks about waste.

Our founder's work inspired a generation of sustainability advocates. This post is a tribute from someone whose career was shaped by Poonam's vision and the nationwide movement she started.

Poonam discusses a common question: "What will we do with all the compost?" Her answer was simple: having too much compost is a good problem to have. It's an opportunity to heal our soil.

While we are proud of the awards we've received, including recognition from Shark Tank India and the Schwab Foundation, the best award is seeing families use our composters for life.

Collaboration is the way forward. Here, our founder Poonam joins hands with a partner in Pune to spread waste management solutions to more people across India.

About this collection

Most people think composting is a chore, but we designed our terracotta units to fit right into your balcony and act as a living system. We do not just hand you a bin, we teach you how to turn daily kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich soil that feeds your plants, proving that managing organic waste is as essential to a modern home as a refrigerator.

In 2006, our founder Poonam Bir Kasturi, an industrial designer, looked at the growing trash problem in our cities and decided to act. She realized that 60% of our household waste is organic and that waiting for city systems to change was not the answer. We had to change our own habits.

She designed the Khamba, a composter that does not look like a dustbin, does not smell, and fits into the smallest of urban balconies. The mission was simple: make composting so easy and accessible that it becomes a non-negotiable part of Indian life, just like a washing machine.

Today, we are more than a brand. We are a community of over 90,000 families across India who are actively keeping thousands of kilos of organic waste out of landfills every single day. We bridge the gap between waste generation and responsibility. Whether you are an individual wanting to start small, an apartment society managing tonnes of wet waste, or a school teaching children the biology of decomposition, we provide the tools and the training to make it happen.

This is not about selling products. It is about closing the loop. We work with potter clusters across India to create our terracotta range, providing livelihoods while solving an environmental crisis. When you join us, you are not just buying a composter, you are participating in a nationwide movement to turn your kachra into black gold. Our workshops, both online and in-person, are designed to hold your hand through the messy, real-world process of composting, from setting up your first layer to troubleshooting pests and harvesting finished compost.
