About Shubh Labh & Festive Hangings
Everything I make uses a sturdy velvet or silk base, reinforced with bukram so they hold their shape year after year. Whether it is the hand-painted parrot motifs, the mirror work, or the delicate pearl strings, I attach every element by hand to ensure they look perfect when they reach your door.
I started creating these hangings because I wanted decor that felt like a blessing, not just a store-bought item. Each Shubh Labh set is designed to be reusable and durable.
What Goes Into My Hangings
- The Base: I use premium velvet or raw silk stretched over a reinforced bukram frame. This keeps the hanging stiff so it doesn't droop on your door.
- The Detailing: You will find genuine mirror work, zari embroidery, and traditional motifs like Ganesha, Radha Krishna, or Khatu Shyam Ji.
- The Finishing Touches: I finish the bottom with heavy latkans—using everything from ghungroo bells to pom-poms and cowrie shells to give it that festive weight and sound.
