A look at some of my favorite shots, from high-speed zoomies in the park to quiet, soulful studio portraits. Every frame here captures the real personality of a pet I’ve had the joy of working with.

This is what pure joy looks like. Capturing the split-second of flight when a gentle giant like this Great Dane forgets his size and becomes a puppy again is why I love my job. It’s about freezing those energetic, love-filled moments between a pet and their person.

I present to you, Mr. Whiskers, a gentleman of discerning taste and a critic of my life choices. Themed shoots are where we can let our imagination run wild and capture the quirky, hilarious personalities that make our pets so special. This little guy was born for the tuxedo life.

There's a reason they're called Golden Retrievers. This is the kind of soulful, happy expression I aim to capture in every portrait. Using soft, natural light, I focus on the eyes to bring out the warmth and gentle nature that makes them such beloved family members.

Your memories shouldn't live on a hard drive. I believe in turning these beautiful moments into tangible art for your home. This is an example of how a dramatic studio portrait of a majestic Saint Bernard can become a stunning centerpiece, celebrating your pet every single day.

This handsome indie dog is walking with the confidence of a king. My work with rescue groups is incredibly important to me. A great photo can show the world their true spirit and help them find the loving home they deserve. My architect's eye for lines and composition helps tell their story with strength and dignity.

The bond between a child and their pet is one of the purest things in the world. This quiet moment between a girl and her cockatiel is a perfect example. My sessions are not just for cats and dogs; I love capturing the unique connection between people and all their animal companions.

Here’s my own baccha, Scamp, having a thoughtful moment by the river. Outdoor shoots allow pets to be themselves, whether they're contemplative like this or running wild. The natural environment provides a beautiful, ever-changing backdrop to capture their true essence.

About this collection

People often ask how I get a Great Dane to sit still or a cat to look like a gentleman. The secret is that I don't ask them to do anything at all. I use my architecture background to frame the shot, but I leave the actual 'posing' to the dogs and cats, capturing the chaos as it happens rather than trying to control it.

I started off as an architect, which means I look for lines, symmetry, and natural light in every frame. But when you mix that with a beagle who refuses to listen, you get my style: controlled chaos. Whether we are in a studio or running around a Bangalore park, I am not interested in forcing your pet into a stiff, awkward position. I am looking for the blink-and-you-miss-it moments, like a mid-air leap or a thoughtful gaze at a stream.

My approach varies depending on the subject. For active dogs, I use fast shutter speeds to freeze their energy. For more reserved pets, I focus on the soft, natural light that highlights their fur and expressions. I am also a big believer that a photograph is not finished until it is a piece of art in your home. I don't want your images to live and die on a hard drive, so I help you turn these moments into framed prints or photo books that you can see every day.

I often say, 'Ghar ki murgi daal barabar', because I spent years photographing everyone else's pets before I realized my own beagle, Scamp, was the one who needed the spotlight. If you have an energetic puppy, a regal cat, or even a feathered friend, my goal is to capture the soul behind the eyes. We will work together to create images that feel like your pet, not just a standard portrait.

Mamta

Studio shoots at Ganganagar, BengaluruStarting ₹9,500 per session

Hi, I’m Mamta. I traded blueprints for camera lenses to spend my days chasing dogs instead of drawing buildings. My beagle, Scamp, is my toughest critic and my main muse, so I know exactly how much patience and squeaky toys it takes to get that perfect shot.
