When I patch a hole or fix a rip, I don't just slap a piece of fabric over it. I match the weight and grain of the denim so the repair blends in, or I use contrasting patchwork to turn the damage into a deliberate design choice. Whether it is an inner thigh blowout or a snagged jacket, I treat the repair as a way to extend the life of your garment, not just hide the damage.
Most denim repairs fail because the thread weight or fabric tension does not match the original garment. I use heavy-duty polyester core threads in specific colours to ensure your repair does not just hold, but actually stands up to daily wear in Mumbai's climate.
Patchwork as Art
Patchwork is not just for hiding mistakes. It is how I bring my 'feko mat' (don't throw) philosophy to life. I take those old denim pieces—maybe a tear on your knee or a fraying sleeve—and introduce contrasting denim or vibrant fabric patches. Common Mumbai Denim Issues
I see a lot of Mumbai-specific wear. Humidity and daily commuting take a toll on hardware. I replace faulty rivets, shank buttons, and zippers with YKK hardware so your jeans function exactly how they should.
The Process
From my shop in Malad East, I manage pickups across the city. You do not need to hunt for a tailor in the heat. Just send me a photo of the tear, and we can discuss if we are going for a hidden repair, where the weave is darned to look invisible, or a statement patch that highlights the repair. Either way, you get more life out of the denim you already love.
