Upcycle and Redesign Your Old Outfits

Don't let your favourite clothes collect dust in the closet. Bring your old lehengas, sarees, or dresses to my store, and let's turn them into something trendy, fresh, and uniquely yours.

See how I give a basic green dress two completely different looks just by draping. First, a simple drape with a belt, and second, a more intricate twist with a fabric rose on the shoulder.

This video shows how I add value to a plain saree by incorporating detailed handwork. I use delicate pearls and beads to transform a simple fabric into a custom designer piece.

Sustainability is about preserving what you have. My mom shows off her 20-year-old saree that we repaired, proving that you don't need a huge wardrobe, just clothes you care for.

A simple trick can completely change your outfit. Here, I'm showing how to convert shorter sleeves into a longer style by carefully removing and reapplying the existing patch work.

Giving your basic outfits a new look is my specialty. Watch how adding different fabric patches, from bold organza flowers to intricate beaded designs, can completely transform a simple red dress.

About From Old to Gold: Upcycling & Redesigns

Before you decide to buy something new, bring your old outfit to my Kharghar store for a quick consultation. I don't just patch things up; I carefully deconstruct your old lehengas or gowns, iron out the creases, and restructure them—using fresh lining and structural elements like canvas or horsehair braid where needed—to make sure they fit perfectly and look brand new.

Sustainability is about preserving what you have, not just tossing things out when they feel outdated. I see a 20-year-old saree and think about the life it still has left. Whether it’s an heirloom lehenga, a heavy gown, or a saree that feels too simple for a wedding, I work to give it a second life.

My process is hands-on. I start by assessing the fabric’s integrity. If it’s a heavy lehenga, I might deconstruct the entire piece to create a fresh Anarkali or a modern, full-flared gown. I use quality materials—butter crepe or shantoon lining, horsehair braid for that perfect wavy hem, and sturdy canvas for bodice structure—so the final result has the same fall as a brand-new designer piece.

Want to add a personal touch? I specialize in:

  • Hemline & Sleeve Rework: Converting short sleeves to longer styles or adding intricate borders.
  • Handwork Revival: Adding pearls, beads, or 3D floral patches to plain fabrics to elevate the look.
  • Convertible Design: Turning one outfit into two, like gowns with detachable skirts or sleeves, so you get more mileage out of your clothes.

I keep things transparent. You bring the base fabric, and we discuss the design. I handle the stitching, the fitting, and all the structural details, including providing up to 3.5 meters of quality lining where necessary. Drop by my studio, and let’s see what we can create together. You don’t need a closet full of clothes; you just need to know how to keep them good.
