My Two Decades in Makeup Artistry
It wasn't a straight path. From a simple garage sale toolbox to founding The Nari Studio, here is the story of how my passion for raw, real makeup became my life's work.
Today, my second child, makeup artistry, turns 20. This journey has been full of passion, late nights, and the joy of teaching. I am forever grateful to my clients, students, and family who have been my rock.
About About Me & My Journey
My philosophy has always been 'less is more'. Whether I'm on set or teaching in my studio in Sector 40, Noida, I don't believe in filters. I believe in understanding the logic behind every texture and shade so you can create a second-skin finish that lasts.
It started with a toolbox from a garage sale and a dream. That early phase, punctuated by a necessary Kryolan run in Kailash Colony, taught me the value of having the right tools, not just a lot of them. Over twenty years, I've seen trends come and go, but the core of good makeup remains the same: it should look like skin, not a mask.
When I opened The Nari Studio in Noida, I wanted to create a space that felt different. I saw how many students were overwhelmed by gatekeeping, where experts would teach without explaining the actual mechanics. That is why my approach is different. Whether you are in my studio or watching an online masterclass, I teach the 'why' behind the technique.
My Approach to Teaching
- Logic over theory: You won't just copy a look. You will understand color theory, base application, and skin prep for diverse Indian skin tones.
- No gatekeeping: You see every product texture up close. I use the same tools I teach with, and I hide nothing.
- Small Batches: Limiting my in-studio classes to 10 students ensures that I am physically present, guiding your hand, and correcting your mistakes before they become habits.
My journey wasn't just about makeup; it was about balance as a wife and mother. I bring that same practical energy into the classroom. You aren't just learning how to apply foundation; you are learning how to build a 15-hour, sweat-proof look that real clients will pay for. If you are ready to stop guessing and start understanding, my studio is where you belong.
