Since I work digitally to replicate traditional painting textures, high-resolution images help me capture the fine details—like the glint in an eye or the texture of a fabric—much more effectively than blurry or low-light shots.
Creating a realistic digital painting is about balancing technology with a manual artist's touch. Unlike a simple photo filter, I manually paint each element from the fine details of hair strands to the way light hits skin.
When we start a commission, I look at your vision and the specific mood you want to evoke. If you have a favorite photo where the lighting wasn't quite right, I can digitally correct it. I also offer the flexibility to combine people from different images into one harmonious portrait, which is often requested for memorial pieces or family portraits where everyone could not be present for a single photo.
I generally work in two main realistic styles:
- Soft Watercolor: This creates a gentle, artistic look, perfect for couple portraits or wedding gifts. It retains a fluid, painterly feel that looks beautiful when printed on canvas.
- Detailed Realistic Painting: This style is about capturing precision. It works wonderfully for individual portraits where you want to retain every distinct feature, like glasses, jewelry, or a specific expression.
