This two-tiered wedding cake was designed with subtle nods to the couple's heritage. It features custom bride and groom figurines, a lit-up jali backdrop, and arrangements of handmade sugar flowers, including anemones and lupins.
A look at these delicate, lifelike moth orchids, made entirely from gumpaste. The client requested exactly three white orchids for this elegant chocolate birthday cake, and I loved bringing her vision to life.

When you choose a custom cake for your big day, remember that intricate sugar work is highly delicate. Because I hand-sculpt every figurine and flower right here in my Malleswaram studio, these cakes are sensitive to heat. If you are picking up your cake, always keep your car AC running on full blast. It is the only way to ensure those fine details arrive at your venue exactly as you see them here.
Why Handmade Details Matter
Wedding and anniversary cakes are usually the centerpiece of the celebration. I believe they should look like they belong to the couple. If you want a specific vibe, like the delicate sugar flowers or the custom bride and groom figurines you see in this gallery, it requires a different level of attention than standard decoration.
My Approach to Design
I treat these designs as storytelling pieces. Whether it is adding a lit-up jali backdrop to represent a specific heritage or ensuring the moth orchids have the exact number of petals requested, I focus on the small things. I do not use store-bought plastic toppers. If you want a couple on your cake, I sculpt them from fondant, capturing their outfits and expressions to match your event.
Technical Realities
- Sugar Flowers: I use gumpaste to create lifelike blooms like anemones, lupins, and orchids. These are edible, but they are also fragile. They are designed for visual impact, so treat them with care.
- Custom Figurines: These take time to dry and set properly. If you want a custom topper, let me know early so I can sculpt them to look like you.
- Logistics: Since everything is made in Malleswaram, pickup is the standard. I always advise clients to have a flat surface in the car and keep the temperature cool. These cakes do not like the Bangalore heat, so please plan your transport accordingly.
