About Artistic & Seasonal Designs
I approach these designs by balancing structural fondant details with soft, flavoured buttercream. If you choose the fondant character or seasonal toppers, note that they sit on a generous layer of frosting, so there is always a good ratio of sweet decoration to moist sponge in every bite.
When I work on seasonal or artistic themes, my goal is not just to make something that looks good for a photo. A cupcake needs to hold up to being eaten. For intricate designs like my hand-painted fondant toppers or detailed sugar-sheet characters, I ensure the base is sturdy enough to carry the weight.
I typically use a vanilla or chocolate sponge as the canvas. For the artistic side, I divide the workload between buttercream and fondant. Buttercream is for textures like fur, grass, or floral wreaths, while fondant gives me the precision for faces and small 3D figures.
If you have a specific seasonal event in mind, like a Christmas brunch or a spring-themed baby shower, I can match the colour palette to your decor. I keep the ingredients simple and fresh, avoiding preservatives that can change the taste.
A quick heads-up on storage: since I use fresh ingredients and high-quality butter, these treats do not handle high temperatures well. If you are picking up from my Hebbal studio, keep them in a cool, air-conditioned car to maintain the finish.
