Inside Our Drama & Speech Classes
Peek inside our drama sessions where kids trade stage fright for stage presence. We focus on active theatre games and hands-on script work to help children find their voice.
An energetic theatre game in full swing. Activities like these are central to our teaching method, as they break the ice, encourage teamwork, and teach acting principles in a way that feels like play.
Students engaged in a script reading exercise during a drama class. This foundational activity helps them with voice modulation, character interpretation, and the confidence to speak in front of their peers.
About Inside Our Classroom
We keep our drama batches limited to 12-20 students, not just for order, but so your child gets consistent time on our raised stage with professional lighting. It makes a massive difference when they are learning to project their voice compared to simply reciting lines in a regular, flat classroom.
At BTA, we treat drama as a toolkit for life, not just an acting class. Our teaching philosophy moves away from boring lectures and towards active participation.
Why Our Approach Works
We believe the environment dictates the outcome. Classes are held inside our BTA Rangamandira, a 100-seater theatre. When a child learns to stand, speak, and perform on a raised stage with professional sound and lights, they stop viewing the stage as a scary, distant place. By the time they have their first performance, they have already walked those boards dozens of times in practice.
What Kids Actually Do
- Theatre Games: These are not just for fun. They are designed to break the ice, teach spatial awareness, and build teamwork skills.
- Voice Modulation: We run specific drills to improve articulation and clarity, helping kids speak with conviction whether they are on stage or in a school debate.
- Script Work: We move from basic improvisation to reading scripts, which helps with vocabulary and emotional expression.
Tracking Progress
We know parents want to see the change, not just hear about it. We host quarterly open-class presentations. This gives you a front-row seat to watch your child shift from being a shy participant to someone who can hold a room's attention with confidence. Whether it is our monthly classes or our intensive production workshops, the goal is always the same: helping them build self-esteem that lasts long after the curtain falls.
