The Beauty in Everyday Things: Realistic Oil Paintings
I paint the things we usually ignore—a sink full of dishes or a crushed soda can. Finding art in the mundane is how I stay sane. ✨
'The Simplicity of Chaos', an oil painting of a sink full of dirty dishes. This piece is part of my upcoming collection, 'Beauty in the Mundane', which finds art in everyday moments.
A straight-on view of the 'Simplicity of Chaos' painting. I used oil paints to capture the reflections in the water and the textures of the leftover food and soap bubbles.
Adding the final touches to the miniature painting of a chaotic sink. The tiny brush allows for incredible detail, even on such a small canvas.
A realistic oil painting of a crushed Coca-Cola can, focusing on the way light reflects off the crumpled metal. It's a fun study in realism and pop art.
Here I am adding a highlight to the Coke can painting. Capturing these small details is what brings a realistic painting to life.
The finished oil painting of the crushed Coke can, sitting on a wooden table. The reflection on the surface below adds another layer of realism to the piece.
A painting of a vintage street lamp, glowing warmly against a simple wall. This piece captures a quiet, nostalgic mood.
About this collection
I typically work with oils on stretched cotton canvas for these smaller pieces. Capturing the light on reflective surfaces like metal or glass takes a few sittings, but it is the part I enjoy the most. It is all about finding the magic in a messy sink or a crushed soda can before I finalize the details for you.
Finding the Extraordinary in the Ordinary
There is a special kind of peace in painting the things we overlook. While many artists focus on grand subjects, I find my joy in the chaos of a kitchen sink, a vintage rotary phone, or even a simple pill pack. My collection, 'Beauty in the Mundane', is my way of documenting life as it really happens—not the polished version, but the real, messy, beautiful truth.
How We Can Work Together
If you have an object or a moment that feels significant to you, even if it seems ordinary to everyone else, I would love to paint it.
Common Questions:
- What materials do you use? I primarily use professional-grade oil paints on stretched cotton canvas or canvas panels. Oils give me the depth and texture I need to make these subjects feel alive.
- What is the timeline? A typical commission takes 2 to 3 weeks to complete. This includes the painting time and the drying period before I can safely varnish and ship the piece.
- Do you ship outside Mumbai? Yes. Every painting is protected with a double coat of varnish and packaged with bubble wrap and cardboard reinforcement for safe transit across India.
- How do we start? We will chat about your idea. You don't need a perfectly formed plan. If you have a memory or just a specific feeling you want to capture on canvas, we can start there.
I treat every canvas as an extension of my own practice. When I paint your favorite vintage camera or a childhood snack, I am not just creating an image. I am capturing a memory so you can keep it on your wall, forever.
