Giving Back to the Community
I believe that martial arts should extend beyond the gym. Through BJJ Familia, we collaborate with local organizations in New Delhi to empower children and support our neighborhood through education and essential aid.
This video showcases a project very close to my heart. We partnered with local organizations to provide food and conduct free self-defense workshops for children in New Delhi. This is what the BJJ Familia is all about.
About Giving Back to the Community
When I started BJJ Familia, I knew the mats were only the beginning. Seeing the children in New Delhi learn basic self-defense skills while receiving support for food and education—that is the true BJJ Familia philosophy in action. It is not just about a technique or a win, but about making a fundamental difference in a life that might otherwise feel unprotected.
Martial arts teaches us that we are stronger together. When we train, we build resilience, but when we use that training to support our local community, we build character. My work with local welfare initiatives is not a side project; it is central to who we are.
Our Approach to Social Impact
We focus our social welfare efforts on two pillars: education and safety. In our recent projects in New Delhi, we partnered with organizations like Bushido Education to ensure that kids not only learn how to defend themselves but also have the resources they need to thrive.
- Self-Defense Workshops: We conduct basic safety and confidence-building sessions tailored for children in underserved areas.
- Essential Support: We coordinate food and resource donations to ensure that the immediate needs of these families are met.
- Empowerment: By teaching kids that they can protect themselves, we give them a sense of agency that carries over into their schools and homes.
Why This Matters
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Jeet Kune Do are often misunderstood as aggressive sports. I want to change that narrative. When you look at the photos here, you will not see combat—you will see connection. You will see kids learning to trust their bodies and their environment. This is the 'warrior mindset' in its purest form: having the strength to protect yourself while having the compassion to lift others up.
If you want to contribute, whether through your time or resources, please reach out. We are always looking for partners in the Delhi NCR area who share this commitment to building a stronger, safer society. We are all one. Hum sab ek hain.
