Continuous Learning and Community in Birth Support
Birth practices evolve constantly. I prioritize continuous training and community connection to ensure the guidance I provide you is always evidence-based and deeply practical.
It was a fulfilling experience to be invited to train the nursing staff at Kranti Hospital on labor support skills. Spreading knowledge and hands-on techniques helps bring about ripples of change in maternity care.
I was honored to be featured on the Evidence Based Birth podcast. Here, I discuss our culturally sensitive doula training and how we navigate the healthcare system to better support families.
Attending the Better Birthing Experience conference in Hyderabad was a joy. It's inspiring to connect with maternity care providers, colleagues, and mentors from across the country who are all working towards the same goal.
Learning from the legendary Mexican midwife Naoli Vinaver. This workshop on Rebozo techniques for challenging births provided simple yet incredibly effective skills to help with labor progress and relaxation.
A dream come true to meet and learn from Naoli Vinaver, whose work I have admired for years. I feel enriched with new Rebozo skills for fetal positioning and belly binding that I can now share with my clients.
I am now a certified Active Mama prenatal fitness trainer. This intensive course added new tools to my practice, including dance, cardio, labor drills, and breath work to support a healthy, active pregnancy.
The Doula Collective is my sisterhood. This video captures the magic of our first physical retreat, where we came together to connect, share, and strengthen our community of birth workers across India.
About this collection
Birth prep is not static. My commitment to learning involves regular, hands-on training with experts like Naoli Vinaver, where I refine skills such as Rebozo techniques for fetal positioning and labor progress. This training ensures I have modern, non-medical tools to help you manage labor pain, move through contractions with more ease, and feel supported in your choices.
My role as a birth doula is grounded in two foundations: evidence and presence. To stay effective, I cannot rely on training from years ago. I treat my professional development as a core part of the service I provide to you, not as an extracurricular activity.
Why this matters for your birth
When we meet for your labor prep, you are not just getting advice from a textbook. You are getting techniques that have been stress-tested by midwives, nurses, and birth educators. For example, my training in Rebozo techniques is not just about belly binding. It provides me with distinct, simple physical maneuvers that can shift a baby’s position or relieve back labor during the most intense phases of birth.
Community as an advocate
I am a founding member of The Doula Collective, a sisterhood of birth workers across India. This connection is vital. When I navigate a hospital system with you, I am backed by a network of mentors and peers. We share experiences, debrief challenging births, and keep each other updated on the latest in maternal care. This community ensures that I never work in a vacuum.
Whether I am training nursing staff at a hospital or attending conferences like the 'Better Birthing Experience,' the goal is always the same: to ensure you receive care that is informed, compassionate, and respectful of your autonomy.
