About Specialized Goalkeeper Trials
Most keepers focus solely on shot-stopping, but we evaluate your distribution and communication too. On trial day, our UEFA and AFC licensed coaches look for how you organize the backline during high-pressure drills. Bring your own gloves and appropriate turf footwear, as we run all assessments on professional-grade artificial grass at our Kothanur and Ulsoor venues.
Modern football demands more than just a big frame. Being a goalkeeper at Bangalore City FC means you are the first attacker and the last defender. When you step onto the pitch for our trials, we aren't just looking for someone who can make a save. We are looking for players who read the game, command their box with authority, and stay calm under pressure.
What we evaluate during trials
Our trial process is designed to mimic real match situations. You will go through:
- Reaction & Agility Drills: We test your explosive movement and footwork through rapid-fire shot sequences.
- Distribution Skills: We want to see how you initiate play. Can you distribute accurately under pressure? Do you have the vision to launch a counter-attack?
- Game Intelligence: We assess how you organize your defense. A great keeper talks, guides, and keeps their teammates focused.
- Conditioned Matches: We place you in small-sided games to see how you perform when the intensity is high and the fatigue sets in.
Our pathway
We don't just run trials for the sake of it. We are scouting for our KSFA Super Division senior teams and our I-League youth squads. If you impress our staff, you get a direct pathway into a professional environment.
