Whether it is a bustling street corner or your favorite quiet cafe, I turn those places into digital illustrations that hold a memory.

The yellow umbrellas of a charming European-style cafe. This urban sketch is a great example of a custom illustration I can make of your favorite local spot, perfect for a personal art print.

A simple cup of coffee can hold so many memories. This illustration of a Cafe Medici at Paul is an example of my still life work, where I focus on capturing everyday objects that are special to you.

An illustration capturing the essence of Vietnamese coffee culture. I enjoy creating detailed scenes that tell a cultural story, perfect for editorial use or as a unique piece of travel art.

A sketch of a favorite coffee shop in Hoi An, Vietnam. I can create a custom architectural illustration of your business storefront or a place that holds special meaning for you.

For all the book lovers, a sketch of the cozy Kunzum book cafe. This interior sketch shows how I can capture the atmosphere of an indoor space, filled with details and character.

A quick urban sketch from inside a botanical cafe. I love doing live sketches on my iPad, capturing the people and plants around me to freeze a moment in time.

A sunny yellow Vespa parked by a green door. This vibrant illustration captures a slice of life with a pop of color, perfect for a cheerful and stylish art print.

About Cityscapes & Cafe Corners

I create these illustrations on my iPad using Procreate, focusing on the architectural details and the mood of the space. You receive a high-resolution 300 DPI digital file, which gives you complete freedom to print it on a canvas, frame it, or use it as digital decor for your home or office.

When I capture a location, whether it is a street in Vietnam or a local book cafe, I look for the small things that make a place feel like home. This service is designed for people who want to hold onto a memory—maybe a first date spot, a favorite travel memory, or a cafe where you spent hours reading.

How I Work

I typically work from reference photos you share. I use a mix of ink lines and watercolor washes to give it that organic, sketch-like feel. Because I focus on 'happy accidents' rather than rigid perfection, each piece has a soft, human touch that feels like a real drawing rather than a computer-generated graphic.

Practical Details

  • Turnaround: I usually take 2-4 days to finish a piece.
  • Deliverables: You get a high-quality digital file. I do not ship physical prints, so you can choose the paper quality, framing, or print size that fits your space best.
  • Revisions: I include 2 rounds of adjustments. We will start with a rough sketch, and once you approve the layout, I proceed to the final coloring.

If you have a place in mind that holds a special story, send me a photo. I would love to hear the memory behind it and see if we can turn it into an illustration.

I am Ashima, the person behind Life in Strokes. I used to be terrified of drawing, but now I love capturing the vibe of a busy street or the quiet peace of a coffee shop. Every sketch is just me trying to hold onto a moment that made me smile.
