A look at some of my most requested work, ranging from detailed graphite sketches to vibrant color pencil portraits. Every piece here is hand-drawn, with no digital shortcuts.

This A3 size custom couple portrait was created using color pencils to capture a special memory. I focus on getting the skin tones and clothing details just right to create a vibrant, lifelike piece of art.

A classic couple portrait done with graphite pencils on A3 paper. My goal here is to capture the emotion and connection between two people, paying close attention to details like their expressions and traditional attire.

This video shows the 48 hours of hard work that went into creating a hyper-realistic portrait. You can see the careful layering and shading required to bring out the deep textures and emotion in the subject's hands and face.

This is a large 1.5 by 2 feet acrylic painting of seven running horses, a powerful symbol in Vastu. I used bold colors and dynamic strokes to create a sense of energy and movement, making it a statement piece for any home.

Here is a look at the process of drawing a tiger cub with color pencils. I enjoy capturing the fine details of animal fur and the innocence in their eyes to create a piece that feels alive.

A family portrait is a treasure, and I take great care in creating them. This A3 size graphite pencil sketch brings together a family of three, focusing on their bond and creating a memory that will last forever.

A time-lapse of me sketching Lord Shiva. This is a personal passion, and I enjoy bringing spiritual figures to life, starting from a simple outline and building up the details to capture a sense of peace and power.

This is a commissioned portrait made with color pencils. I worked to capture the subject's personality and the fine details of his expression and clothing, showing how color can add a different dimension to a portrait.

About Featured

When you commission a piece, you are not getting a filter-applied print. You are getting a hand-drawn sketch that takes me anywhere from 12 to 48 hours to complete. I work from a clear photo you send, keeping you updated on the shading and detailing as I build your portrait layer by layer.

My Approach to Custom Art

I believe in doing things the old-school way. Whether it is a couple portrait, a family sketch, or a single subject study, I use high-grade graphite, charcoal, or color pencils to bring the subject to life. My process is simple but time-consuming. I do not use digital editing or AI filters. Everything you see here is drawn by hand on Brustro paper, focusing on details like skin texture, clothing folds, and the specific expression in the eyes.

Choosing Your Medium

  • Graphite & Charcoal: Best for timeless, classic black and white portraits. These are perfect for gifts or preserving family memories with a clean, high-contrast look.
  • Color Pencil: Ideal if you want to bring warmth to a portrait. I use high-quality lightfast pigments to create realistic skin tones and vibrant details.
  • Acrylic: I use this for larger projects, like home wall art or spiritual paintings, where you need bolder, long-lasting color.

The Commission Process

I am based in Mumbai and ship throughout India. Once you share a photo, I evaluate it for clarity and detail. I provide a digital proof during the process so you can see how the shading is progressing. If you have specific constraints or need a piece for a particular occasion, please let me know when you reach out. I do not rush my work because the details matter. If you are looking for a portrait that actually looks like the person in the photo rather than a generic sketch, let's talk.

I am Mahipal. Art is my escape from the noise. I do not believe in digital shortcuts; if you look at a portrait I have drawn, you are looking at hours of graphite and charcoal work. I focus on capturing real expressions because that is what makes a memory stay alive.
