I turn blank school walls into engaging, educational spaces. From digital concepts to final paintwork, I create environments that help children learn and feel inspired.

This butterfly girl mural is a favorite in the schools I paint for. It doubles as a fun selfie spot and an educational tool, with the wings filled with doodles about learning and creativity.

This post details my process for designing a government school in Amravati. I consider the age of the students, the location of the wall, and local culture to create relevant and impactful art.

A side-by-side comparison of the digital design and the final painted mural for a school in Gujarat. This shows how a concept comes to life, a process I teach in my mural course.

This left-brain vs. right-brain mural was designed for a school's creative corner. It visually represents the balance between logic and creativity, inspiring students to explore both sides.

These murals were designed to promote emotional intelligence and career aspirations. The top one helps kids identify their feelings, while the bottom one encourages them to dream big about their future.

About Transforming Spaces: School & Community Murals

My mural process begins by analyzing the specific age group and function of the wall, whether it is a primary classroom, a stairwell, or a common corridor. I map out designs that serve a direct purpose, like hygiene reminders near washrooms or emotional intelligence prompts, rather than just filling space with paint. Every project involves close collaboration with the principal and staff to ensure the art resonates with the local culture and student needs.

Designing with Purpose

I view every wall as an opportunity to influence a child's day. When I design for schools, I don't just pick pretty colors. I consider the school's rhythm. Walls in a 1st-standard classroom require different stimuli than those in a senior block. I use a combination of educational content, quotes, and visual signifiers to turn corridors into learning zones.

The Mural Execution Process

  1. Site Assessment: I evaluate factors like lighting, surface texture, and wall dimensions before drafting a single line. This ensures the design fits the environment perfectly.
  2. Stakeholder Alignment: Public spaces require input. I work with the school authorities to ensure the themes—whether promoting emotional intelligence, career aspirations, or cultural identity—align with their vision.
  3. Scaling & Logistics: Whether it is a large-scale exterior wall or an interior mural, I handle the technical setup. This includes moisture checks, scaffolding safety, and using heavy-duty, weather-proof materials for longevity.

Why Schools Choose My Process

I share the digital mockups with the school management first, so you see exactly how the art will look before we start painting. This transparency removes the stress of uncertainty. I focus on creating interactive 'selfie spots' and educational doodles that keep children engaged long after I have finished the project. My goal is to make the school feel like a vibrant, welcoming second home.

I am a doctor and an artist, and I treat every mural like a prescription for the space—carefully tailored for the students and teachers who spend time there. I don't believe in just painting walls; I believe in creating environments that teach, comfort, and spark imagination.
