This post details my process for designing a government school in Amravati. I consider the age of the students, the location of the wall, and local culture to create relevant and impactful art.

A side-by-side comparison of the digital design and the final painted mural for a school in Gujarat. This shows how a concept comes to life, a process I teach in my mural course.

These murals were designed to promote emotional intelligence and career aspirations. The top one helps kids identify their feelings, while the bottom one encourages them to dream big about their future.

About Transforming Spaces: School & Community Murals

My mural process begins by analyzing the specific age group and function of the wall, whether it is a primary classroom, a stairwell, or a common corridor. I map out designs that serve a direct purpose, like hygiene reminders near washrooms or emotional intelligence prompts, rather than just filling space with paint. Every project involves close collaboration with the principal and staff to ensure the art resonates with the local culture and student needs.
