From Dentistry to Murals: My Creative Path

When I tell people I am a doctor who paints murals, there is always a moment of silence. It is a shift from the life everyone expected of me to the life I actually wanted. My transition was not an escape from work, but a pursuit of a different kind of healing, one that happens on walls rather than in exam rooms.

Living in Ahmedabad, I found that my background in medicine gave me an edge in mural art that I did not anticipate. My dental training taught me patience, steady hands, and an obsession with detail. When I am working on a complex project, like a traditional Pichwai or a 3D illusion, I view the wall as a patient. I analyze the light, the texture, and the viewing angles before I even pick up a brush. I do not just paint a space, I analyze what the room is lacking.

My style is intentionally messy and raw. I believe art should feel alive, not sterile.
