Experience the grace of the Guler style. I hand-mix natural stone and vegetable pigments to bring the timeless love of Radha and Krishna to your home.

The divine pair, Radha and Krishna, captured in the Guler Pahari miniature style. Every detail, from their expressions to the folds of their clothes, is painted with fine brushes and natural pigments.

Watch this Pahari miniature come to life, from the first outline to the final touch of color. This video shows the patient process of creating a traditional Radha-Krishna painting.

A glimpse into my process of preparing for a Pahari miniature. I am mixing natural colors by hand, which is an essential step in achieving the authentic look and feel of this art form.

Here I am at a Pahari Miniature Painting workshop at Gyan Pravah, honing my skills. Continuous learning is a vital part of my journey as a traditional artist.

About Pahari Miniatures: Elegance in Detail

When you commission a piece, please understand that this is a slow, methodical process. I spend weeks preparing natural stone pigments and using fine brushes to capture the intricate expressions on facial features and jewelry. Because I work on handmade paper with these traditional materials, the artwork requires specific framing under glass to keep it safe for generations.

Pahari miniature art is not just about the visuals, it is about the quiet discipline of the Guler school. I am deeply drawn to this style because of its soft, lyrical lines and the way it handles religious devotion, particularly the Radha-Krishna theme.

The Process of Natural Pigmentation

Unlike modern acrylics, my miniatures use hand-mixed natural earth and vegetable pigments. I source these elements and grind them myself. This creates colors that feel grounded and distinct from synthetic alternatives. When I work on A4-sized handmade paper, the layering of these colors requires immense patience, often starting with a rough sketch and building up to the fine, single-hair brushwork that defines traditional Pahari work.

Care and Framing

Because these pieces are created on high-quality handmade paper with organic pigments, they are fragile. I do not provide these framed because they need specific handling. You will need to get them mounted under glass to protect against humidity and dust. This ensures the pigments remain stable for decades.

Why Choose Authentic Miniatures?

If you are looking for a centerpiece that tells a story, a Guler miniature brings a sense of stillness to a room. It is a contrast to the fast-paced nature of modern life. Whether it is a wedding gift or a personal addition to your puja room, these pieces carry the 'shradha' (devotion) that I pour into every stroke.
