What makes these grids work is that I sculpt every single face individually, meaning no two pieces in the set are identical. Bringing Characters to Your Walls
I started this project because I wanted to see if I could capture a hundred different human emotions in clay. These grids are the result. When I work on a set, I spend hours on each piece—some faces look solemn, others seem to be whispering, and some feel like they are caught in a moment of quiet contemplation. It is messy work, often involving cold-cast resin or high-grade clay, but it is the only way to get that authentic, ancient feel.
The Process and Finish
I finish every sculpture with multiple layers to mimic the look of aged, antique bronze. This patina reacts beautifully to indoor lighting, catching shadows and highlights throughout the day.
- Dimensions: Each piece is roughly 6 inches by 6 inches.
- Installation: I design these with keyhole slots or integrated hooks on the back for flush wall mounting.
