Raw Emotion in Charcoal, Pencil & Ink Sketches
I use charcoal, pencil, and ink to capture the moments words cannot. Whether it is a quiet embrace or a fierce rebirth, let us bring your rawest feelings onto paper.
A simple, colorful cartoon of a boy and girl hugging. This piece was made during a time of distance, a hopeful illustration about the simple power of a hug and looking forward to being close to loved ones again.
Sometimes a hug says everything you can't put into words. This gentle pencil sketch captures the quiet comfort and safety of an embrace, a simple moment of connection.
Inspired by song lyrics about waiting for someone, this pencil sketch of two hands interlocking in the dark is about connection and hope. It’s a simple, intimate drawing about reaching out for another.
A nostalgic pencil sketch of a little girl holding her teddy bear. This piece is about childhood companionship and the silent friends who share our earliest joys and sorrows.
This pencil sketch captures the feeling of the wind blowing through your hair. It's a drawing about freedom, movement, and that simple, refreshing moment of facing the breeze.
A watercolor portrait celebrating the quiet strength and grace of women. The soft colors and gentle expression are meant to reflect the limitless potential within.
A monochrome watercolor sketch of a man's back. This piece is a study of the human form and an exploration of mood and shadow using only black and grey tones.
This ink wash illustration captures the elegant lines of the female form. The piece is about embracing both the gentle soul and the wild heart that can exist within a person.
A majestic deer sketched with pencil. I focused on the powerful antlers and the gentle gaze to create a portrait that feels both royal and wild.
A clean ink line art of Dumbo the elephant. It’s a tribute to the classic character and his inspiring story that the very things that hold you down can be the things that lift you up.
About The Soul in Lines: Sketches & Illustrations
I create my sketches using charcoal, graphite, or permanent ink on 300 GSM cold-press paper. When you commission a piece, I share a rough pencil layout with you first. This allows us to adjust the composition, expression, or details together, ensuring the final artwork feels honest to your vision before I commit to the permanent ink or heavy shading.
Art is my way of making sense of the noise in my head. When I sit down to draw, I am not just creating an image, I am capturing a specific frequency of emotion. Whether it is the soft shading of a charcoal portrait, the precision of a stippled phoenix, or the clean lines of a minimal sketch, every stroke is intentional.
How We Work Together
I believe art should hold a piece of your own story. If you have an idea—a raw memory, a specific quote, or a feeling you cannot describe—we start there.
- Drafting: Everything begins with a pencil sketch. This is where we verify the spacing and symmetry.
- The Medium: Depending on the mood you want, I use Uniball ink for crisp line art, charcoal for high-contrast portraits, or graphite for soft, nostalgic pieces.
- The Finish: Every piece is professionally framed in synthetic wood, ready to hang.
My work often explores themes of resilience and connection, like my phoenix studies or pieces inspired by song lyrics. If you are looking for a portrait that captures a real moment of comfort, or a graphic illustration that speaks to your own quiet strength, send me a message. Let’s talk about the story you want to put on your wall.

Art is how I sort out the noise in my head when words fail me. I pour my own messy feelings into every line I draw, hoping to bring a piece of that quiet comfort or strength into your home.
