About Building Future Stars: Youth Selection Trials
We use these trials to assess a child's temperament, not just their current skill level. We are looking for students who can maintain focus under pressure and handle the repetition required in the sport. You do not need to bring equipment; we just need your child to show up ready to learn.
Archery is more than just shooting arrows; it is a discipline that builds patience and mental resilience. Our selection trials for Under-10 and Under-13 age groups are designed to see how a child reacts to the challenge of the sport. We prioritize the 'Indian Round' basics using wooden bows, which allows us to focus on stance, grip, and the foundation of a repeatable shot.
When we run these sessions at our ranges in Bandra, Dadar, and Vile Parle, we watch for three things: curiosity, willingness to follow instructions, and the ability to stay calm. We often tell parents, 'Time lagega!' (It will take time). There are no shortcuts to becoming a champion. We teach children to respect the equipment, handle wind compensation on our open-air ranges, and enjoy the community aspect of our training. Whether your child has never held a bow or has been shooting in the backyard, these trials are the starting point to see if they are ready for structured competitive training.

I am Swapnil Parab. At Arjuna Sports Archery Academy, I run these selection trials because I love watching kids pick up a bow for the first time. We focus on teaching them that archery is a long journey of discipline and fun, not just about hitting the bullseye.
