Bridal Portraits: Capturing Your Moments Before 'I Do'
Before the music starts and the rituals take over, there is a quiet, beautiful stillness just for you. I love capturing these intimate bridal portraits that focus on the anticipation of your big day.
A soft and dreamy black and white portrait. The bride's joyful, shy smile is captured through her delicate veil, creating a moment of pure, understated beauty.
A quiet moment of reflection. This black and white shot captures the bride by a window, using natural light to create a classic and contemplative bridal portrait.
A thoughtful black and white portrait. The bride, holding her veil, looks away with a gentle smile, capturing the anticipation of the moments to come.
An artistic double exposure in black and white. This creative technique layers two moments together, showing the bride's joyful expression and her intricate henna details.
The final reveal. This is the moment the bride is fully ready, holding her veil and smiling, ready to walk down the aisle. A beautiful portrait of a South Indian bride.
A happy bride posing next to a framed photo, perhaps of her mother or another inspiration. This adds a layer of personal story to the bridal portrait.
A serene bridal portrait. The bride, in her beautiful peach-colored saree, sits against a large window, bathed in soft, natural light.
About this collection
Most of these portraits happen in the 15 to 20 minutes before you walk down the aisle. I prefer not to use rigid, traditional poses. Instead, I use that time to help you breathe, get comfortable, and capture your real anticipation—whether that is a shy smile, a tear, or just a moment of quiet reflection.
Finding Your Calm
I know how chaotic the wedding day can be. There are guests arriving, makeup artists rushing, and a dozen things pulling you in different directions. My approach to bridal portraits is all about giving you a little sanctuary in that storm. I don't believe in forced, stiff posing. When we take these shots—whether in a hotel room in Breach Candy or a venue in the city—I want you to feel like yourself.
The 'Tadka' (Spice) in My Process
I mix my style between vibrant color and high-contrast black and white. Color is great for the details of your lehenga or the glow of your jewelry, but monochrome? That is where the raw emotion lives. It strips away the distractions and focuses entirely on your expression and the quiet energy of the moment. If you are worried about being camera-shy, do not stress. My job is to be that calm presence, helping you relax so we can get portraits that feel like you.
What We Can Create Together
- The Getting Ready Details: I document the final touches—the intricate henna, your jewelry, the way your veil sits—because these details anchor the memory of your transformation.
- Window Light Portraits: I am a huge fan of natural light. Using soft window light creates a timeless, ethereal quality that makes for stunning, art-house style shots.
- Candid Interaction: Sometimes the best portraits are not you looking at the camera, but you looking away, reflecting on the journey you are about to start.
Whether you are planning an intimate shaadi or a large wedding, these portraits are about documenting the woman behind the bride.
