The Groom's Story: Authentic Wedding Portraits in Mumbai
The wedding day belongs to both of you. This is where I capture the groom's unique nerves, his excitement, and those quiet, reflective moments before the celebrations truly begin.
A classic portrait of the groom in his sherwani and magenta turban, holding the ceremonial sword. He looks regal and ready for his wedding.
An artistic, reflective shot of the groom in his car. The black and white photo captures a moment of thought and anticipation on his way to the venue.
The details matter. This shot shows the groom's family helping him with the final touches on his wedding jacket, a moment of care and connection.
A joyful, candid moment in black and white. The groom looks at his reflection while his smiling father and friends look on, sharing in his happiness.
A close-up on the groom's hands, showcasing his intricate henna and the detailed velvet scabbard of his sword, key elements of his wedding attire.
The final touches. The groom adjusts his turban ornament, or 'sarpech', in the mirror, a key part of the Sikh groom's getting-ready process.
A powerful silhouette of the groom. This black and white shot, taken against a bright window, captures a quiet, contemplative moment before the ceremony.
A happy, candid portrait of the groom in black and white. His genuine smile shows his excitement and joy during the wedding ceremony.
A collage of the groom getting ready with his family. These images capture the helping hands and happy faces that are part of his wedding morning.
Portraits of the groom, looking sharp and ready. These shots show him getting ready and a final posed look in his elegant white sherwani.
About The Groom's Story
I don’t just walk in and start shooting. I look for those 'just him' moments—the steadying breath before he walks to the mandap, the way his father adjusts his sherwani, or that split second of reflection in the car mirror. My goal is to capture his personality so you have a complete picture of your day, not just the posed portraits.
People often focus solely on the bridal transformation, but the groom's journey is just as cinematic. When I am shooting a groom, I am looking for the specific energy he brings to the day. Sometimes it is a calm, intense focus captured in black and white; other times, it is the chaotic, joyful energy of the baraat and the banter with his friends.
My process is to be a quiet observer. Whether you are getting ready at a hotel in Breach Candy or a venue across Mumbai, I use portable studio lighting and natural angles to ensure the groom looks sharp without feeling 'staged'. It is about the details—the texture of the sherwani, the weight of the ceremonial sword, and the laughter with the groom squad. If you are a bit camera-shy, do not worry. I specialise in helping you relax so we can get those genuine portraits that actually feel like you.
I believe the best groom photography happens when you forget the camera is there. That is when the real smiles, the 'superman' moments of getting into a suit, and the thoughtful pauses happen. I am here to tell your side of the wedding story with the same amount of heart and care I put into every single frame.
