About this collection
I do not just paint on flat surfaces. For these pieces, I use a heavy texture paste before applying acrylics. This gives the mountains a real, rugged feel and makes the birds or lotus petals stand out from the canvas. It is not just a painting, it is something you can actually touch.
Whether it is the quiet morning light at Lalbagh or the architectural grandeur of the Thanjavur Big Temple, my sketchbook is always with me. When I am back in my studio here in Bengaluru, I try to translate those fleeting moments into permanent, handmade canvas paintings.
My approach to these nature-inspired pieces relies heavily on building depth. I use a high-density texture paste to sculpt the landscape, whether it is the mist on a mountain peak or the intricate details of a bird’s feathers. Once the base has set, I layer on heavy-body acrylics. This combination creates a 3D effect that changes with the light in your room throughout the day. It brings a unique, textural quality to your nature inspired home decor that prints simply cannot replicate.
