Technically, I keep it simple but professional. I need a standard PA system with a reliable microphone, a stand, and a clean 4x4 ft stage area to move and connect with the audience. I handle my own backing tracks via USB or Aux. My goal is to break the barrier between the performer and the audience, ensuring that the message hits home.
