About Nail Makeovers: Before & After
People often ask if I can fix bitten or damaged nails, and my answer is always yes. I don’t use harsh tips or glue that damage your nail bed further. Instead, I use a Russian dry-prep technique to gently clean your cuticles and a builder gel overlay that actually strengthens your natural nail while it grows out. You aren't just getting a paint job here; you are getting a recovery session.
A lot of my clients come to me feeling like their nails are a lost cause. Whether you are a nail biter, or you have had a bad experience with cheap extensions elsewhere, I have seen it all. My studio in Malad is built on the belief that nail health is non-negotiable.
The Process
When you come in for a makeover, we start by assessing your nail bed health. I use an electronic file with diamond bits to perform a Russian manicure. This is a dry process, meaning no soaking in water that softens your nail plate and causes lifting later. By lifting the cuticle cleanly and prepping the surface precisely, the gel bond becomes significantly stronger.
Why it works
For brittle or short nails, I use a rubber base or BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) overlay. This creates a tiny apex that adds structure and strength, letting your natural nail grow without snapping. If you want length, we use paper-form sculpting instead of plastic glue tips, which are heavy and rigid.
Reality Check
