Stripping back the noise to focus on form, light, and timeless elegance. These studio sessions use high-fashion aesthetics and bold silhouettes to celebrate your pregnancy with a clean, editorial look.

A modern take on maternity, this portrait is for the woman who is bold and chic. We collaborated on this high-fashion concept, using a striking black dress and hat to create a powerful, elegant silhouette that celebrates pregnancy with confidence and style.

There is a timeless elegance in monochrome. This black and white studio portrait focuses purely on form, light, and emotion. The simple, classic composition highlights the beautiful curve of the baby bump, creating a powerful and intimate fine art maternity portrait.

A fun and fashionable black and white portrait with a playful attitude. The styling with the hat, sunglasses, and boots shows that maternity photography can be trendy and full of personality.

A candid, smiling close-up in black and white. This portrait captures a moment of pure joy, with the off-shoulder black top adding a touch of modern elegance.

This high-contrast monochrome portrait emphasizes the beautiful silhouette of pregnancy. The pose, with her hand on her back, is both natural and flattering, creating a simple yet powerful image.

A soft and contemplative black and white portrait. The backlighting creates a beautiful rim light, separating her from the background and focusing on her gentle expression and the curve of her belly.

The elegance of a backless black gown is showcased in this side profile portrait. The clean white background puts all the focus on her form, creating a sophisticated and modern maternity photograph.

A black and white version of a fashion-forward portrait. The monochrome treatment adds a layer of drama and timelessness to the image, highlighting the textures of the dress and the bold shape of the hat.

A duplicate of image 15, this monochrome portrait showcases the striking silhouette of a backless black gown against a clean, bright background for a modern and elegant feel.

The color version of the same pose, showing the classic black dress and the pop of red from her nail polish. This image is a perfect example of a client-led concept that resulted in a stunning, fashion-inspired maternity shoot.

About Modern & Monochrome Studio

My modern studio sessions are about stripping back the noise and focusing on form. I work with high-contrast lighting to sculpt your silhouette, ensuring the focus remains on the beautiful, organic curve of the bump. These aren't just poses, they are architectural studies of the human form that stand the test of time.

When we strip away the color, the composition becomes everything. I pay close attention to posture and the way light interacts with your silhouette because in a monochrome frame, there is nowhere to hide. Every tilt of the head or placement of the hand creates a new narrative.

In my Jakkur studio, I often use a mix of hard and soft lighting to create that editorial feel you see in these images. Whether it is a structured hat, a high-fashion black gown, or just the raw, authentic curve of your belly, the goal is always a timeless finish. I handle the styling myself, ensuring the wardrobe—from bodysuits to gowns—complements the mood we are trying to set.

This falls under my Essential Studio Portraits package. It includes professional makeup, two costume changes, and access to the studio wardrobe where I keep a collection of pieces specifically chosen for their texture and drape. If you are wondering about the best time for these, I suggest booking for your second or early third trimester when you have the energy to really enjoy the process. It is a collaboration between us, not just a click-and-go session.

I am an artist first—an architect and painter at heart—and I bring that structural eye to every studio session. I do not just take photos; I design a space where you feel empowered, elegant, and timeless. It is my job to make sure you see yourself the way I do: as a work of art.
