Peacocks and swans are more than just motifs in my henna art. Whether it is a bold centerpiece or a subtle accent, these classic designs bring grace and detail to any celebration.

A beautiful design featuring two peacocks under a moonlit sky, with their intricate feathers flowing down the fingers.

A symmetrical design with bold, striking peacocks on both hands, showcasing a modern and graphic style.

A delicate and artistic swan motif, created using a cutwork or negative space technique for a unique look.

A bridal arm band featuring a peacock standing gracefully in front of a palace jharokha.

A stunning combination of a peacock and mandala art, with the peacock's body forming the center of the design.

A bold and beautiful peacock design where the bird's form is the main centerpiece on the back of the hand.

A graceful peacock design where the bird is integrated into a larger traditional pattern with checks and floral elements.

"One thing that makes me happy." A video showing the creation of a design featuring a 'palki' (palanquin) with peacock details.

A stylish mehendi design with a large peacock as the main attraction, its feathers adorned with jhumka-like danglers.

An intricate design where peacocks are beautifully integrated into the architecture of the pattern.

About Majestic Peacocks & Swans

When I draw these birds, I focus on the flow of the feathers and the symmetry of the wings. It takes a steady hand to get the negative space right, especially with swan silhouettes, but that is exactly what makes the design pop against the skin.

The peacock is a symbol of beauty and grace, making it a favorite for both brides and festival goers. I treat these designs as a central focus rather than just a filler pattern.

My Technique

I use fine-tip cones to draw detailed feathers and expressive eyes for the birds. For peacock designs, I often incorporate architectural elements like a jharokha (palace window) to frame the figure, adding depth to the art. With swan motifs, I prefer a cleaner, more delicate look using negative space, which helps the design stand out in photos.

Customization

Whether you want a heavy bridal look where the peacock is integrated into the mandala, or a minimalist backhand design, I adapt the scale. If you are preparing for a wedding, we can add couple portraits or important dates around the bird motifs to tell your love story.

Aftercare

I use only natural, organic henna. To ensure that the peacock feathers and swan wings come out a deep, dark maroon, I apply a lemon-sugar sealant immediately after the mehendi dries. I will guide you on how long to keep the mehendi on and how to avoid water contact for the first 24 hours to get the best stain possible.
