About Our Craft: Fabrics & Embellishments
When you visit my studio in South City II, we don't just pick a swatch. We look at the drape of the linen, the weight of the silk, and how the fabric moves when you walk. Whether you are selecting velvet for a winter blazer or a breathable cotton for a summer co-ord, you can test the fabric's fall and hand-feel before we even start the sketch.
My design process is entirely tactile. It is about understanding how the fabric behaves. A 60 LEA linen feels different from a modal satin, and choosing the right base is the foundation of the design. I encourage every client to come in and touch the materials—from rich Bangalore silks for a festive dupatta to soft muslin prints.
Embellishment should never overpower; it should define. We specialize in delicate handwork like Gota Patti, Kantha stitch, and custom sequin placement. Whether it is a traditional mirror-work border for a festive lehenga or a modern, artistic sequin motif on a formal shirt, my goal is always the same: 'style bhi, comfort bhi' (style and comfort too).
Nothing is standard here. Your height, your posture, and your preference for drape determine the final construction. We do not just stitch; we construct silhouettes that actually flatter your body. From internal gumming and overlocking to reinforced boning for corsets, every seam is finished to ensure the piece lasts. You are not buying off a rack. You are building a piece of art that fits your life and your personality, made with fabrics that I have personally sourced for their quality and finish.
