About Mature Bonsai-Style Specimen Trees
These specimens are massive, often weighing several tons, which means we handle them using specialized equipment. Since we do not just drop off a pot, we will need to assess your site access—including gate width and turning radius—to ensure our crane and flatbed truck can safely install your tree.
Adding a mature specimen tree to your property is an investment in instant landscape maturity. Rather than waiting years for a sapling to grow, our 10- to 30-year-old Ficus trees provide an immediate sense of age and structure to your garden, courtyard, or commercial entrance.
The Craft Behind the Tree
Each tree in our collection has undergone years of shaping. We use Japanese-inspired cloud pruning to create distinct, horizontal foliage pads that reveal the tree's architecture. This technique, combined with our work to expose the gnarly, interwoven aerial roots, turns a standard Ficus into a sculpture. We manage the soil and root systems for years in our nursery containers before a tree is ever considered ready for sale, ensuring high survival rates and stability upon installation.
Logistics and Installation
Because of the scale and weight of these trees, delivery is a logistical operation, not a standard courier service. We use heavy machinery to load these multi-ton specimens onto flatbed transport trucks. At your destination, you will need to account for crane access. Our team works with you to evaluate your site—measuring pathways, overhead wires, and ground load-bearing capacity—before we commit to a delivery plan. Please note that crane rental and site-specific handling costs are separate from the tree price.
Care and Maintenance
Once installed, these trees are hardy but benefit from a consistent routine. We provide guidance on the specialized porous soil mix we use, which is optimized for drainage. We also offer advice on controlled watering and seasonal pruning schedules. If you maintain the clip every few weeks during growth seasons, the cloud-pruned shape remains crisp and dense, serving as a year-round focal point for your outdoor space.
