Large Scale Botanical Installations and Living Art
We transform spaces with living art. From statement vertical gardens and hanging sky forests to our signature Tree of Life installations, we build green canvases that thrive in your home or office.
We were given the opportunity to resurrect a large ficus bonsai that had not survived. Our team meticulously created a new arrangement with hoyas to mimic the original foliage, bringing the tree back to life as a permanent botanical sculpture.
For this poolside area, we created idiosyncratic botanical installations. These sculptural pieces with trailing plants are mounted on the laterite clad walls, adding a rustic touch of greenery that complements the curved architecture.
We turned a plain wall into a one of a kind installation space using large, live edge wooden pieces. These now host a variety of epiphytes, including orchids and bromeliads, forming a living conversation piece for the home.
This is the process of creating a custom wall installation for a client in Mysuru. A live edge wood slab becomes the base for a curated arrangement of epiphytes, designed to thrive in a humid environment and grow over the years.
A behind the scenes look at a botanical styling project. We customized a rustic wood branch with various epiphytes, including orchids and hoyas, to create a statement piece of living art for a client's balcony.
A piece of nature brought indoors. This living art arrangement showcases a micro-habitat of orchids and ferns on a piece of rustic wood, displaying a beautiful example of biodiversity.
About this collection
Before we even pick a plant, we assess your space for light and humidity. A large installation, whether it is a Resurrection Tree or a vertical wall garden, is an engineering job as much as a botanical one. We ensure the wood is stable, the anchors are secure, and the environment is right for the orchids and ferns to actually live, not just look good for a photo.
When we build a large scale botanical installation, we are doing more than just placing plants. We are setting up a micro-habitat. Our work often involves the 'Resurrection Technique,' where we take skeletal remains of old bonsai trees and re-clothe them in hoyas and ferns. It is a way of honoring the tree's form while bringing it back to life as a focal point.
Why structure matters
For a living wall or a suspended garden to succeed, the infrastructure is key. We work with steel ceiling anchors and load-bearing wood frames. We do not just mount plants to a surface, we create a system that allows for proper root aeration and moisture retention. If you have a laterite wall or a live-edge wooden slab, we choose the epiphytes that will naturalize with those materials, such as Staghorn ferns, Bromeliads, or Moth Orchids.
Maintenance and growth
We build these pieces to evolve. We select hardy plants that handle the light levels of your specific room, be it a brightly lit balcony or a shaded foyer. We provide clear guidance on the 'soak and drain' watering method, which keeps the plants healthy without making a mess of your floors. Whether you are in a high-rise in Bengaluru or a home in Mysuru, we visit the site to check the space, plan the heavy-duty mounting, and install the greenery so it stays put.
Common questions
- How long does installation take? Large projects usually take 1 to 2 days for the structural work and planting.
- Do these need sunlight? Most of our large installations use shade-loving epiphytes, but we adjust the plant selection based on your room's actual light.
- Is it messy? We design our living walls with proper drainage solutions to protect your interior walls from water damage.
