Additional Student Artwork and Landscape Studies
Every artist starts by exploring new styles. Here is a glimpse of the various landscapes and creative pieces my students have developed during our sessions at our Noida studio.
A student proudly holding his watercolor painting of a clock tower. This landscape piece shows a good understanding of perspective, color mixing, and architectural detail.
A beautiful watercolor painting of a tram on a city street. This work demonstrates the student's ability to handle perspective and create a sense of place and atmosphere.
About Additional Artwork
What you see in these pieces goes beyond just paint on paper. Each sketch and watercolor study here is part of a deliberate exercise to build observation skills and technical confidence. Whether it is capturing the architectural details of a clock tower or the perspective of a city street, we focus on understanding the subject first, then interpreting it through personal style. It is messy, it is trial-and-error, but that is where the real learning happens before tackling complex entrance exams or final portfolios.
Often, students think art is just about finishing a pretty picture. At our Sector 37 studio, I push them to look at the 'why' behind the image. Landscape painting isn't just about drawing buildings or trees; it is about composition, understanding how light hits a surface, and learning to simplify a complex scene into manageable shapes.
Why These Studies Matter
For those aiming for NID, NIFT, or architecture admissions, these studies are foundational. The observation required to paint a tram or an old clock tower is the same observation needed for perspective drawing and sketching in entrance exams. We use these exercises to build visual vocabulary.
Our Process
We experiment with different water control techniques, layer washes to create depth, and use limited palettes to focus on tonal value. It is not about perfect execution every time; it is about the student learning to trust their hand and eye. If you are struggling with your own creative direction or looking to build a portfolio, these kinds of practice sessions are where you start. My approach remains consistent: honest feedback and steady, incremental progress.
