Science & Field Trips: Learning By Doing
We believe science is best learned when children can see, touch, and explore it firsthand. From local nature walks to interactive dioramas, we bring every concept to life.
A field trip to Prani Pet Sanctuary, where children get to interact with birds up close. These real-world experiences foster empathy and a deep respect for animals and nature.
Our trip to the local fire station was an unforgettable experience. The children got to see a fire hose in action, learning about fire safety and the important role community helpers play in our lives.
Feeding a horse at the pet sanctuary was a highlight for many of our children. These gentle interactions teach them about caring for animals and help overcome any fears in a safe, supervised environment.
Getting to meet an iguana and a rooster on the same day. Our excursions are designed to provide a rich variety of sensory experiences and learning opportunities.
A day out at Rangoli Garden, where the children enjoyed a magic show. Field trips are an essential part of our curriculum, broadening horizons and creating joyful, shared memories.
A teacher explains the human skeleton using a life-sized, child-friendly model. This hands-on approach to biology demystifies the human body and answers so many of the children's questions.
Learning about the Earth's atmosphere with a multi-layered model. I believe in making big scientific ideas accessible and exciting for young minds through visual and interactive teaching aids.
Children gather around a model of a pond ecosystem to learn about the life cycle of a frog. These detailed, hands-on models make learning about science engaging and easy to understand.
For Environment Day, our children got their hands dirty planting seeds. This activity teaches them about the life cycle of plants and the importance of nurturing our planet.
Our Environment Day celebration included creating art with natural materials and learning about the ecosystem. We believe in instilling a love and respect for nature from the earliest age.
About Exploring Our World: Science & Field Trips
Science here isn't something we read about from a textbook. When we visit local sites like the Prani Pet Sanctuary or break down complex concepts like the Earth's atmosphere using hands-on models, children engage with the world physically. This tactile approach helps them understand how things work by actually building, touching, and exploring the subject matter themselves.
At Ace Montessori, we operate on the belief that a child's curiosity is the strongest tool for education. Our approach to science and field trips is designed to nurture that natural desire to discover. We move beyond worksheets to create a tangible connection with the world.
Why We Prioritize Excursions
Field trips are not just outings for us. They are carefully planned opportunities to connect classroom lessons to the real world. When children visit a local fire station, they aren't just looking at a truck. They are learning about community helpers and safety firsthand. Trips to places like Prani Pet Sanctuary allow children to interact with nature, fostering empathy and teaching them to care for living creatures in a safe, supervised environment.
Hands-On Science in the Classroom
We bring the same spirit of inquiry indoors. Our classrooms in Jayanagar and Padmanabhanagar are filled with life-sized models that explain complex topics. Children don't just memorize the names of organs; they interact with a child-friendly human skeleton model. They don't just hear about geography; they create dioramas of igloos and forests, learning about habitats and ecosystems through art. This keeps science relevant, exciting, and accessible for ages 2 to 10.
Safety and Engagement
We know parents value both academic depth and safety. Every excursion is led by our teachers and 'akkas,' maintaining strict supervision and a consistent staff-to-child ratio. We focus on active learning because we know that when children are involved in creating their own science projects, they retain what they learn much longer than they would by simply observing.
