Classical Hatha Yoga Classes in Navi Mumbai
These postures are not about physical flexibility or perfect shapes. They are specific technologies designed to stabilize your system, break repetitive mental patterns, and prepare you for a state of deep inner stillness.
This video shows a sequence of fundamental Hatha Yoga postures. Notice the deliberate and conscious movements, which are key to turning the practice from a simple exercise into a process of inner union.
The body has its own deep-rooted patterns and compulsions. Through the adamant practice of asanas like this forward bend, we can begin to break these cycles and create a new possibility for our physical and mental health.
Here, in a seated wide-legged forward bend, the focus is on creating conscious choice over compulsive action. This is the freedom that yoga offers, a life where your wellbeing is determined by you, not by old habits.
Practicing Virabhadrasana III, or Warrior III pose, in an open space. This balancing asana is a powerful tool for developing focus and physical stability, which directly translates to mental stillness.
This posture, known as Nadi Vibhajan, is designed to balance the Ida and Pingala, the two primary energy channels in the body. By balancing these energies, we bring equilibrium to our entire system.
In Prasarita Padottanasana, a wide-stance forward bend, the aim is to turn inward. Yoga is a subjective science, a technology to explore the inner dimensions beyond the physical body and the thinking mind.
About The Art of Asana: Stillness in Motion
People often come to me expecting a typical gym-like stretch session, but this is different. Because I come from a background in structural engineering, I focus heavily on bio-mechanical integrity and alignment. When we practice asanas, we are not just moving muscles; we are correcting the structural foundation of your system. You will learn to hold these postures with precision, which is where the real stability of body and mind begins.
Classical Hatha Yoga is not therapy or fitness. It is a precise science. When you look at an asana, it is not merely a physical shape; it is a specific geometry designed to influence your energy system. My role is not to lead a class in the conventional sense, but to guide you through these processes so you can perform them independently.
Why Precision Matters
In a standard session, whether we are working on Yogasanas or Surya Kriya, I prioritize alignment. If the spine is not positioned correctly, the energy does not move as intended. I provide hands-on corrections because subtle adjustments, even just a few millimeters in a lunge or forward bend, change the entire impact of the posture on your system.
The Shift from Compulsion to Choice
Our bodies carry years of unconscious habits—compulsions that dictate how we react to life. By holding specific postures with breath coordination, we begin to dismantle these patterns. It requires a certain stubbornness, or what I call adamancy, to keep showing up on the mat. But this is where the transformation happens. You stop being a slave to your mind's restlessness and start observing it from a place of stability.
My Practice Locations
I conduct workshops at Classical Hatha Yogashala in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, and I also offer home-based sessions across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area. All my spaces are chosen to be distraction-free environments, which is essential for the level of focus these practices demand. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your practice, these modules are designed to give you a toolset you can take home and use for the rest of your life.
Abhishek
I used to build structures as an engineer, but now I focus on building inner stability. My path shifted when I realized that true well-being comes from turning inward, not just fixing things on the outside. I teach classical practices that act as a foundation for a balanced, clear mind.
