The Design Process: Turning Concepts into Reality
Good design starts with a spark. I call it 'kulbulahat'—that restless excitement before we start building. Here is how I turn that feeling into a physical space.
Every project starts with a bit of kulbulahat, that restless spark. Here, I was playing with blocks to conceptualize an exhibition stall, proving that great design can come from simple play.
The messy but satisfying process of creating custom wall textures. I love experimenting with materials like mud and plaster to achieve the perfect organic finish.
A hands-on installation of a moon-textured ceiling feature for the Ayodhya rooftop project. I believe in personally crafting these artistic details to ensure they are perfect.
Back to basics. This video shows the traditional craftsmanship of hand-cutting wood veneers to create a seamless, natural edge for a custom tabletop.
On-site at a project during the early construction phase. Regular site visits are crucial for me to ensure the structural work aligns perfectly with the design vision.
An early morning site visit to the Ayodhya rooftop project. Spending quality time on site allows me to connect with the space and make real-time design decisions.
A typical day at the studio, collaborating with my team. This is where we hash out details, review plans, and bring our collective creativity to each project.
About this collection
I don't just email plans and walk away. Real design happens when I am on-site, getting my hands dirty with mud, wood, and stone. You will see me there for every major decision, from checking the grain on a custom table to adjusting the lighting to get that specific calm feel just right.
From Sketch to Reality
My process is a direct reflection of my 'sketch to reality' philosophy. We begin by deep-diving into what your brand or home actually needs. Are we aiming for wabi-sabi calm or a vibrant bohemian rooftop? Once the vibe is set, we move to material experimentation. This is where the work gets real. We mix mud textures, test lime wash finishes, and hand-cut wood veneers to make sure the physical reality matches the initial vision.
Why Being On-Site Matters
You will not find me managing this from a desk. I am on-site to handle the construction, oversee the electrical layouts, and ensure the joinery is perfect. This level of involvement means we catch potential issues early and make the space feel alive before we ever hand over the keys.
Our Workflow
- Concept Phase: We establish the narrative for your space.
- Material Lab: Testing textures and finishes for unique wall and floor treatments.
- Active Execution: I personally supervise site visits to ensure our architectural plans align with the build.
- Finishing Touches: Installation of lighting and custom furniture that pulls the entire story together.
This approach ensures that your project is not just a copy-paste design but a living environment tailored to your requirements.
